Here are some of my highlights from 2024
Silver Filigree
2024 was really a year of big changes for me.
As part of expanding my horizons, I did volunteer/consult at T-works. I met and helped out quite a few interesting people there. People who were putting up more little computers into the satellites that’d be orbitting our planet. People who went onto work in other interesting startups near me.
I even helped T-works write software for their interesting Jewellery making machine. Software that massively improved the workflow with the machine.
I thank everyone who were part of this journey.

Joining Google
After so many years of working at (really amazing) small companies, I finally took the big leap and joined Google Hyderabad as a Senior Software Engineer. Thanks a lot to all the people that have helped me out. You know who you are.
This was probably the biggest change 2024 brought me. Me fixing my schedule and going back to office almost 5 days a week! It took a lot of getting used to - having to learn their tools, their software stack, their workfows - even getting used to the Macbook keyboard! (It’s been 9 months there and I still prefer my Arch Linux / KDE laptop).
The office food and perks and the people are really good and makes going to work certainly easier. I do feel quite pampered there.
Ups and downs
- Finally bought myself a Steam Deck. I am not even much of a gamer but I played more games on my deck in the first 6 months than my gaming PC and laptop in the last 10 years combined. Valve really nailed it on this one.
- I finally upgraded my bicycle with Bafang BBS02 750W mid drive motor! This honestly has been a game changer and helped me get back into cycling. Cycling is fun again.
- Cycling is fun but with a 750 watt motor and a lot of adrenaline, apparently it isn’t as safe as it used to be. I had my first major crash, broke my hand, had my first surgery and am still healing while typing this.
Ciao!
